For adventure riders that demand high-speed performance and on-road comfort, there are few choices better than the Shoei Hornet X2 Navigate Motorcycle Helmet. The X2 starts with a multi-ply fiberglass and organic fiber shell that Shoei then refines in the wind tunnel, creating highway speed aerodynamics that are some of the best available. Those aerodynamics are seen in the air channeling louvres found on the removable peak, and they’re found in the noise isolation factor of the helmet since Shoei has made it one of the quietest adventure helmets out there. By adding in better sound damping the weight has increased to about 4.0 pounds but Shoei makes up for this by balancing the X2 extremely well to kill off excess buffeting and neck fatigue. Ventilation is solid and well suited for relaxed touring, a 3D Max-Dry system II interior lining offers great comfort and moisture wicking properties, and Shoei includes a good deal of extra nuances like recessed speaker pockets, emergency release cheek pads, a chin curtain, breath guard, and a pinlock shield to prevent your visor from fogging up. Overall the Shoei Hornet X2 Navigate Motorcycle Helmet works great as an extremely comfortable premium helmet, ideal for adventure riders that spend most of their time on paved roads. Watch our video above to see how the Hornet X2 stacks up to other popular dual-sport / adventure helmets. Safety: Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ Shell Construction. Smaller, lighter yet stronger shell design; compact and aerodynamic. Dual-layer multi-density EPS liner accommodates a more compact design without compromising ventilation. E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick-Release System) allows emergency personnel to easily remove cheek pads from an injured rider’s helmet. Snell and DOT approved. Comfort: 4.0 pound weight All-new CNS-2 3D injection-molded shield offers a distortion-free view. 3D Max-Dry System II interior. Acoustic refinement makes the Hornet X2 one of the most quiet adventure helmet options Center pad components are three-dimensionally shaped to match contours of the rider’s head, allowing a comfortable fit while maintaining a firm hold for high speed riding. Max-Dry System II liner material quickly absorbs and dissipates sweat and moisture. All-new V-460 visor is the result of many hours in Shoei’s wind tunnel, featuring an innovative wedge shape with strategically placed vent louvers which allow wind to pass through unobstructed at high speed. Venting: Large, multi-position lower air intake/defroster. Two shutter-controlled upper air vents. Four uniquely-positioned rear exhaust outlets. Three neck outlet vents. Convenience: Innovative ribs on the top edge of the shield improve rigidity when opening and closing. QR-N base plate system offers quick and efficient shield removal without having to remove the visor. Improved shield locking system. Recessed speaker pockets for in-helmet speakers Pinlock pins and lens included. For proper fit and size measure the circumference of your head 1" above your eyebrows and around the largest portion of the back of your head.
