The biggest improvement to the MX-9 is MIPS. The Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) is a specialized layer inside the helmet that allows a limited amount of slip between your head the helmet’s EPS. This relatively small amount of slip lowers the chances of traumatic brain injury by letting your head better handle impacts that occur at unpredictable angles. To go along with the MX-9’s comfort and protection, it also has versatility in spades. The intermediate oval head shape means it will fit most riders, but the integrated face shield and visor also give you options.
